Of course, the fitments listed on this page are only valid for vehicles that have not had their front bumpers replaced with aftermarket alternatives. If you did change you bumper to an alternative style, you may need to modify the bumper/holder for it to properly fit, and this is done at your own risk.
Some euro plate holders attach under bumper strips, others can be attached using the existing screw holes holding your current North American style plate holder if you drill new holes in your euro plate holder (behind the plate so extra holes are not visible). In some cases if reusing the North American plate screw holes does not allow the holder to sit completely flush with the car, it may be necessary to make two small holes in your bumper to affix plate holder.
Question: Can you please tell me how the plate holder would mount to my bumper? Does it attach using strips, or are holes required? Thanks.
Answer: It is actually possible to attach the plate holder to your bumper using the original screw holes put into your bumper by the factory when they mounted your original north american plate holder. You will just have to drill a couple holes in your new plate holder so that they line up with the existing bumper holes, and screw it in. the edges may come up a little, but those can be held down with double sided tape or butyl tape.
For a perfect installation, you can use the pre-formed holes in the plate holder, and put new holes into your bumper. The screws provided with your original plate holder are self-tapping screws, so they can be screwed directly into new places on the bumper to secure the plate holder.
Question: I just wanted to be sure that the euro one will cover the holes of the old American license plate bracket.
Answer: Yes, this product will cover up the holes from your American bracket.
